چکیده
We discuss the successes of the dynamical mean eld (DMF) approach to metal insulator transitions in both the clean and the disordered limit. In the latter case, standard DMF equations are generalized in order to incorporate both the physics of strong correlation and Anderson localization eeects. The results give new insights into the puzzling features of doped semiconductors.

Dynamical mean - eld studies
We discuss the successes of the dynamical mean eld (DMF) approach to metal insulator transitions in both the clean and the disordered limit. In the latter case, standard DMF equations are generalized in order to incorporate both the physics of strong correlation and Anderson localization eeects. The results show remarkable agreement with many puzzling features of doped semiconductors.
متن کاملDynamical Mean Field Theory of the Antiferromagnetic Metal to Antiferromagnetic Insulator Transition
We study the zero temperature antiferromagnetic metal to antiferromagnetic insulator transition using dynamical mean field theory and exact diagonalization methods. We find two qualitatively different behaviors depending on the degree of magnetic correlations. For strong correlations combined with magnetic frustration, the transition can be described in terms of a renormalized Slater theory, wi...
متن کاملMetal-insulator transitions in the Falicov-Kimball model with disorder
The ground-state phase diagrams of the Falicov-Kimball model with local disorder are derived within the dynamical mean-field theory and using the geometrically averaged s“typical”d local density of states. Correlated metal, Mott insulator, and Anderson insulator phases are identified. The metal-insulator transitions are found to be continuous. The interaction and disorder compete with each othe...
متن کاملDynamical Mean-field Theory for Correlated Lattice Fermions
Dynamical mean-field theory (DMFT) is a successful method to investigate interacting lattice fermions. In these lecture notes we present an introduction into the DMFT for lattice fermions with interaction, disorder and external inhomogeneous potentials. This formulation is applicable to electrons in solids and to cold fermionic atoms in optical lattices. We review here our investigations of the...
متن کاملDynamical Mean Field Theory equations on nearly real frequency axis
The Iterated Perturbation Theory (IPT) equations of the Dynamical Mean Field Theory (DMFT) for the half-filled Hubbard model, are solved on nearly real frequencies at various values of the Hubbard parameters, U , to investigate the nature of metal-insulator transition (MIT) at finite temperatures. This method avoids the instabilities associated with the infamous Padé analytic continuation and r...
